Allianz to cut 250 jobs and create a hundred

The insurance company Allianz Suisse has announced its intention to cut 250 of a total of 3,500 jobs by 2011. In parallel with this move, the creation of a customer service centre is expected to generate around a hundred new posts.

The cuts will affect management and the in-house services of the independent general agencies. Although Allianz Suisse will make use of natural fluctuations and internal replacements, redundancies cannot be ruled out.

Allianz Suisse says it needs to save around 50 million francs over the next two years to consolidate its position in a difficult and increasingly competitive environment.

The aim of the restructuring is to streamline organisation and increase efficiency. The creation of the new service centre, designed to centralize customer contacts (totalling 1 million), is part of this process.
