FINMA report on private (re)insurers

FINMA publishes its first annual report on private (re)insurers.

A merge of three supervisory authorities, the Federal Banking Commission (CFB), Federal Private Insurance Office (OFAP) and Authority for the Control of Money-laundering (AdC LBA), FINMA has been since 1 January 2009 the single supervisory authority for the financial markets in Switzerland.

The report on the 2008 financial year provides an overview of the comprehensive annual accounts of all insurance and reinsurance companies, insurance groups and conglomerates under the supervision of FINMA.

This document contains information on changes in authorisations, supervision, mergers, business lines and corporate names occurring in 2008 affecting insurance companies under supervision, together with more detailed analyses of sickness funds, groups and conglomerates.
