    Revision of the Insurance Contract Act (LCA) - The consultation is extended to 31 July 2009

    The Federal Council has launched consultation proceedings on the revision of the LCA (loi fédérale sur le contrat d’assurance) (General Insurance Conditions).     A Committee, formed at the initiative of the trade union Unia, and joined by Comedia, Sit in Geneva, the Swiss Labour Party, USS, Avivo, PS and Solidarités, is opposing the reduction in the conversion rate for the 2nd pillar and organising a referendum against the reduction. The organizers have until the 16 April to gather the necessary 50,000 signatures.

    The insurance company Allianz Suisse has announced its intention to cut 250 of a total of 3,500 jobs by 2011. In parallel with this move, the creation of a customer service centre is expected to generate around a hundred new posts.
